SAN SEBASTIAN CATHEDRAL - BACOLOD CITY

From the city of Smiles, San Sebastian Cathedral made as the center of religion in Negros Occidental

This Church is made of Coral Stone and gravel. It is also designed for as fortress at the same time as old way to resist in any disasters. Centuries passed and any earthquakes, storms and wars, this church still remain standing and its old beauty never fades. This Church is named from a saint of Europe, Saint Sebastian that died from execution.

This Church is made before in wood and Zinc Iron as its roof of the church. Spaniards and Local Negrenses helped each other to make this church as the center of their religion and of both races in Bacolod City. During World War II, this church used this as alternative hospital for wounded soldiers of war.






















And also Americans and Filipinos Soldiers hide in this Church from Japanese. After a war, local government try to restore its beauty from its old design. Today, San Sebastian Cathedral is always open for everyone and always closed at 8:00 at evening. Their furniture of church is still there, architecture of church is still remain and they preserved by leaders of church.



















I remembered when I was in San Sebastian Cathedral, I brought candles at a side of Church and light it in Baby Jesus hold by Mama Mary. This is the place where you can think silently and refresh your mind from the stressful work outside.
